After five to 10 inches of snow fell in Chicago, Illinois, five otters living at Shedd Aquarium celebrated the snow day. The otters were seen running, jumping, sliding and rolling around in the snow.
The lovable Californian and Alaskan sea otters didn't hesitate to immerse themselves, taking full advantage of their own personal snow day.

Four of Shedd's five sea otters are rescues, thanks to the aquarium's Animal Response Team, the release stated.
Bringing in the snow was similar to other activities animal trainers use to keep the otters happy, including bringing them ice cubes and ice treats for mental stimulation and physical exercise. This was Luna's first time experiencing snow. She was 5 weeks old when she arrived at Shedd and has been receiving around-the-clock care from animal care experts since her arrival. Bringing in the snow was an added benefit to the sea otters enrichment. The Shedd Aquarium's Animal Response Team has saved the lives of more than 40 endangered or non-releasable animals around the world over the last 50 years, including sea otters, fish, turtles, sea lions and penguins.
