Following the departure of Moore and Gibson, "Criminal Minds" has dramatically received its lowest ratings after years of soaring high in the small screens despite the fact that one of the showrunners has assured fans that Matthew Gray Gubler (Spencer Reid) is not leaving the show.
However, CBS officials announced on Thursday (16Mar17) that Moore will come back to his old show to reprise his role in the finale of the 12th season on 10 May (17). He starred as Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Derek Morgan for 11 seasons before stepping away a year ago. The show's criminal behavioral analysis team gets a lead in a case where Agent Morgan's help is desperately needed.
Criminal Minds airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on CBS.
