India and Pakistan cricket match has always been an intense battle.

Tempers flare, trumpets blow, the war cry is heard as both sets of players get into war-mode. However, it is well known that the cricketers of both nations have been cordial, even sharing deep friendships at times.

At a time when cricketing relations between India and Pakistan are strained, to say the least, Virat Kohli-led Team India made a brilliant gesture for the now-retired Pakistan all-rounder, Shahid Afridi.

Now isn't that a gesture worth respecting?

Indian cricketers paid a fitting tribute to former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi. The picture of Kohli's jersey was uploaded on Twitter by a Pakistani journalist who discovered the gift. Afridi announced his retirement from all formats of the global cricket in February this year. He stepped down as T20I captain after he had captained Pakistan against India in a group stage match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Afridi had announced retirement from Test and ODI cricket after ICC World Cup 2015.

Shahid Afridi has had some his most memorable knocks in matches against India.

That brought an end to a 20-year-old worldwide career, that comprises of many incredible records during 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 98 T20I matches.

He was recently announced as one of eight Champion Ambassadors for the Champions Trophy to be held in the United Kingdom from June 1 to 18, along Harbhajan Singh, Habibul Bashar, Ian Bell, Shane Bond, Mike Hussey, Kumar Sangakkara and Graeme Smith.
