According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened just before 3 p.m. on New Madrid County Road 246 at the Dunklin County line.
The victim in Wednesday's fatal crash on Interstate 29 has been identified as West Platte High School football and wrestling coach Nathan Danneman. He has been with the West Platte School District for four years.
The patrol said a tractor-trailer, driven by 63-year-old Carl Braddock of Geneva, Nebraska, crossed the median and struck three vehicles in the southbound lanes. Nathan Danneman will always be known as a positive and hard-working role model for our kids and staff.
Liam Nunnery was flown to a children's hospital in Memphis with serious injuries.
Willis suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin by an ambulance, the patrol said. The semi also struck a 2017 Ford F-150 and a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze.
The driver of the fourth vehicle, Amber Garvey, 26, of Kansas City, was not injured.
