- Starbucks officially announced the release of its Unicorn Frappuccino this week, and guys, the drink is attractive.
"I have never been so stressed out in my entire life", Braden Burson said in a video that's going viral on Twitter.
Burson, who said the new pink-and-blue drink "tastes like a Sweet Tart", filmed the video in his vehicle. Topped with whipped cream, and sprinkled with pink and blue fairy powders, the drink looks magical, and it tasted pretty magical too.
Colbert sipped the concoction on The Late Show and joked that it was called the unicorn frappuccino "because the name "Sugary Affront to God" was taken". "My hands are completely sticky".
The Jimmy Kimmel Live host told his audience that the drink was an "abomination" that "looks like a windbreaker from the '80s" and that it is "only available through April 23, or until someone dies from drinking it, whichever comes first". Using Lime Crime's aptly-named "Unicorn Hair" color, Ford fused pink, purple, and blue tones into a attractive ombré that looks good enough to drink.
The drink was inspired by the trend of unicorn-themed food online.
A large Unicorn Frappuccino contains a whopping 76 grams of sugar.
The chains isn't likely to stop making the wildly popular drink over the complaints of one barista. "[The drink] seems like something you would find in a hipster cafe in New York City, not in a Starbucks in Buffalo".
