White House Expecting More Than 21000 at Trump's 1st Easter Egg Roll

In commemoration with the time-honored tradition in the country, US President Donald Trump welcomed thousands of kids and adults in the yearly celebration of the Easter Egg Roll in the South Lawn of the White House.

President Trump addressed the approximately 21,000 attendees from the Truman Balcony above the South Lawn, thanking his wife and noting she worked very hard on the event to make sure it is "just right".

How cute was this year's White House Easter Egg Roll?

A little rain didn't stop the White House from hosting the biggest event of the year.

Numerous families travel from all parts Maryland, Virginia, and beyond, just to enjoy the day at the White House and with the first family.

Melania and Barron, who traveled to Washington from NY - where they are living until the 10-year-old finishes the school year - appeared with Trump, accompanied by a human-sized white Easter rabbit, on the Truman Balcony to address the invited guests.

The annual event, which started in the 19th century, was an opportunity for First Lady Melania Trump to host a high-profile event.

Even the Easter Bunny had his hand over his heart, only the "America First" president required a nudge from his better part to remind him of his civic duty.

The guest list includes military families, children from local schools and hospitals, and children of staff members. "We're right on track", Trump said according to a report by the NBC News.

"In fairness to Trump, it wasn't the Russian national anthem", read one tweeted message.

The White House Historical Association said that 40,000 of the eggs were ordered this year, with 18,000 set to be given away at the event and another 22,000 to be made available for purchase.

"Then we're going to come out and join you, and enjoy your company for a roll, a great Easter Egg Roll".

Melissa McCarthy returned to "Saturday Night Live" as Spicer on Saturday, this time dressed as the Easter bunny, mocking his recent flubs (and that time Spicer dressed up as the furry white animal). He wore the outfit himself in 2008 during the George W Bush administration.
