A violent sex offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant could be headed to Manitoba, according to police.

Joseph Davis, 46, served a four-year sentence for sexual assault and is now serving a long-term supervision order.

Davis lured a real estate agent into his Winnipeg home and attacked her ten years ago.

In 2001, he was convicted of assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement of a female sex trade worker he invited to his residence. He was serving a longterm supervision order while staying at a Vancouver halfway house but violated his order by failing to report as required.

Police say Davis is believed to have left the Vancouver area and could be heading east to Manitoba in a grey, 2000, four-door Mercedes C230 with B.C. licence plate DE5 64E.

Anyone who has information on Davis' whereabouts is asked to phone 911 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
