Garrett, a defensive end from Texas A&M, signed for a fully guaranteed $30.4 million.
Moments after the Browns announced No. 1 overall draft pick Myles Garrett signed his rookie contract on Friday, the team tweeted a video clip of the former Texas A&M defensive end sitting in an office as he handled the paperwork.
Garrett, who is expected to help transform a Browns defense that ranked as one of the worst in the league during a miserable 1-15 season in 2016, has already turned heads from the team with an impressive showing at rookie minicamp last weekend.
In 34 games over his three years with the Aggies, Garrett registered 141 total tackles, including 81 solo stops and 60 assists, with 31.0 quarterback sacks, seven forced fumbles, one recovery, five passes defended and one interception.
At 6 foot 4 and 272 pounds, Garrett comes from an extremely athletic family.
The Browns' 26 sacks tied for the second fewest in the National Football League last season.
The Browns have signed six of their 10 draft picks.
Garrett joins DL Larry Ogunjobi (third round), DB Howard Wilson (fourth round), OL Rod Johnson (fifth round), K Zane Gonzalez (seventh round) and RB Matthew Dayes (seventh round) under contract with the team.
