Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game as Manchester United claimed a 1-0 advantage in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final clash with Celta Vigo.

Jose Mourinho has prioritised winning the Europa League over finishing in the Premier League's top four and wants to win the competition to make it to the Champions League.

Rashford, who netted an extra-time victor against Anderlecht in the quarterfinals, drove a right-foot strike over the wall and into the far left corner in the 67th minute, securing United the advantage going into the second leg in Manchester next week.

Mourinho continued: "We tried to win the match". "A kid that finishes a training session and stays half an hour more every day to take free-kicks and to wait for the opportunity". But the former Manchester City player believes his side were denied a chance to get back into it. "The players that are in accumulation, they are not going to play next weekend".

All of them played superbly in their positions but it is of course Rashford who will steal the headlines after his stunning free-kick grabbed the win for Man United.

"I am going to change my team to play against Arsenal, so I think (Wenger) will be really happy with me", Mourinho told reporters. "He had a fantastic shot in the first half that (produced) a handsome save", added Mourinho. "That I think will be the best Portuguese goalkeeper of the next generation".

'Seeing Celta's trajectory in the Europa League, they definitely deserve respect for the second leg.

Celta, playing in its first major European semifinal, lost for the first time in its last six European games.

"So it's very important that the players are strong mentally and enjoy a hard atmosphere here and then to wish that at home we get the best out of Old Trafford".

He said: 'A set-piece does us and it's a good set-piece but our keeper is disappointed with it.

While several Red Devils fans are anticipating their team reaching the final in Stockholm later this month, yet some are urging caution ahead of next week's return leg at Old Trafford...
