Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said there would be no let-up in his government's fight against corruption and that he was ready to pay any price because the people of India were with him.

Also speaking on the occasion the Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping Shri Nitin Gadkari said that highways and inland waterways projects worth about Rs 40,000 crores are now being implemented in the North Eastern states, and there are plans to spend about Rs 1,50,000 crores on projects in these states in the next two years. "It is on the two tracks of physical infrastructure and social infrastructure that complete development is achieved", Modi said.

Over the recent incidents of crime in Uttar Pradesh, Shah said the Yogi Adityanath government has "tackled everything promptly and action has been taken in each case".

Making a mention of Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh, he said around 50 people allegedly involved in the fraud were killed but the CBI was yet to submit a report on it. Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, who died in November 2011, was a noted singer, musician and filmmaker, a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and National Award.
