Seagate has been partnering with Microsoft to supply official accessories for the Xbox console for a couple of generations now, and we took a look at one back in 2015 with the original Game Drive for Xbox. Subscribers get to download them on the console so those who plan on downloading a lot of games after they pay $10 per month for this service may want to spring for an external hard drive as well.
The new Seagate Game Drive for Xbox Game Pass Special Edition is available now at the suggested costs of $90 (£70, AU$120 converted) and $130 for 4TB (£100, AU$175), respectively. Just plug it into any Xbox, log in with your Xbox Live account and all of your games are ready. Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, National Basketball Association 2K16 and SoulCalibur II are some of the titles that are now available in the Game Pass library.
As an added value, Seagate is offering a one-month subscription to the Xbox Game Pass with the 2 TB model, and a two-month subscription with the 4 TB model. After all, there are only so many games that you can store on the Xbox's internal hard drive. The pricing is right in-line with the previous green models which had also been bumped to the same capacities. They can unplug the Seagate Game Drive and take an entire game library to a friend's house.
