Gabe Brown sat in Tom Izzo's office on Saturday and received a scholarship offer.

Brown is the third in-state pledge of Tom Izzo's 2018 recruiting class. For Michigan State, they get a versatile 6-foot-6 forward that's one of the top players in the state. He recently attendant a shootout camp hosted by Izzo for some of the state's best high school talent on the hardwood.

At times Brown can be inconsistent with his shot, but the upside is there for him to be tremendous. He had also made unofficial trips to both Kentucky and Missouri along the way, as well as multiple treks to Ann Arbor and the University of MI.

Brown had offers from programs such as DePaul, Rhode Island, Central Michigan and Duquesne, among others. He's coveted a scholarship offer from MSU or MI throughout his high school career. This past weekend, Brown's classmate and football prospect, 3-star cornerback Davion Williams, made his verbal commit to the Spartans.

Brown committed to Michigan State on Tuesday, announcing his decision on Twitter. He joins four-star guard Foster Loyer and four-star power forward Thomas Kithier in Michigan State's 2018 class. Izzo has led Michigan State to 20 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, seven Big Ten regular season titles and five Big Ten tournament titles.
