A report on BollywoodLife quoted Raju Mahalingam, creative head of Lyca Productions as saying, "As we don't look at this film as an Indian production but a Hollywood movie, we wanted to do something different". Lyca productions, the makers of 2.0 have come up with a unique and interesting strategy for the promotion of the film.
As a part of its promotion, a hot air balloon adorned with life-size images of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar from film 2.0 will float over the Hollywood signage in Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 27. "We also plan to take it to various Indian cities".
After LA, the balloon will also make its mark on London, Dubai, San Franscisco, a few South East Asian countries, Europe and Australia. "Well-known stars will participate in this drive", he furthered.

Generally it is common for big budget Tamil films with leading stars to have a whirlwind promotional tours across the state and even to other states.
The video ends with the banner "2.0 World Tour".
Directed by Shankar, "2.o" is the sequel to 2010 Tamil blockbuster "Enthiran". Akshay Kumar is playing main antagonist, scientist Dr. Richard and Rajini will be seen reprising his much-love Chitti character from the first part.
The film's shoot is expected to wrap up soon and while earlier, the film was slated to release this year, the makers made a decision to postpone it to next year, for the massive VFX requirements.
Previously, before the release of Rajinikanth's film Kabali, several Air Aisa aircrafts were used to promote Thalaiva's film.
