He was responding to a fan on Twitter who asked if he was going to see the Irish rockers at the weekend and if so, to "catch the support act".

Liam Gallagher has hit out at U2 again.

"Never regarded as the most articulate of people, Liam nonetheless has a distinctive way of expressing himself", McCormick writes, before paraphrasing the outspoken Gallagher brother, "This is the first time I've seen U2", he declares.

Ending his angry tweet spree, Liam posted: "Not scared of bingo and his naff band you can't bull shit a bullshitter ain't that the edge".

U2 are now performing on their Joshua Tree Tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the eponymous album's release.

After Noel Gallagher sang praises of U2 earlier this year, Liam accused his brother of "brown nosing" with Bono and the gang.

It's certainly one way to remind folks that his new album, As You Were, is scheduled for release in October.

Posting on Twitter, Liam said that he "had a lovely day" at London's Air Studios on Monday (July 3) and that he had recorded orchestral parts for "For What It's Worth", "Paper Crown" and "Greedy Soul".
