Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Dushanbe on a two-day official visit to Tajikistan.
A formal welcome ceremony held at the palace of President Imamali Rehmon where he was accorded guard of honour also.
The prime minister is also accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Special Assistant Sartaj Aziz, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Trade Minister Khurram Dastgir and others.
Leaders of Pakistan and Tajikistan during their meetings are expected to exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Both countries will also ink a Joint Declaration titled "Road towards strategic partnership for regional solidarity".
Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoy identical views on regional and global issues and both countries cooperate with each other on worldwide fora.
Tajikistan is also hosting a Quadrilateral Summit of CASA-1000 member states, namely; Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Tajikistan. The CASA-1000 project aims at developing energy corridor and land connectivity between Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
A Trilateral Summit between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan is also scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the visit to hold discussions on regional topics of mutual interest.
