The leadership of the party has announced that the National Convention of the PDP has been slated to hold in October.
In his reaction, Sheriff said he was not sure that Makarfi could be calling for amnesty for him and his group, adding that until he was sure that the former governor made the call, he would not respond.
Reacting to the court judgement on Thursday, spokesperson for the Sheriff camp, Bernard Mikko, in a statement, said: "We received with shock July 12 judgement of the Supreme Court on the leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)". I congratulate Senator Makarfi. We must all put our hands together to channel a new course for the PDP.
"Moving forward, we must embrace true reconciliation, so as to be united as a formidable option to send the APC packing in 2019".
The Supreme Court also ordered Sheriff to vacate the National Secretariat of the party.
As a result of the preparation for the convention, each state branch of the party has been directed to submit 30 names.
"Meanwhile, we continue with our avowed demands that the party must be given back to the owners at the grassroots to always elect their party officials and those to contest elections for them at all levels".
PDP was Nigeria's ruling party for 16 years until it was defeated at the 2O15 general election.
