Number used to send Makhosi Khoza death threats registered to BLF

"This is what I go through everyday. I have reported to the police, but nothing has happened!" she wrote in an accompanying post.

She is on the record as writing to Speaker of Parliament Baleka Mbete to request that the upcoming motion of no confidence vote against President Jacob Zuma be done via a secret ballot for safety reasons.

"I never thought that they would escalate [this] to my children‚" she said. In a statement he said that while the ANC was "aggrieved by her conduct" in openly criticising leaders and not toeing the party line, threats against her were to be condemned outright. "My daughter. And why should I die in silence?" "Do what is best for yourself and your family".

She was further warned: "You have 20 days let (sic)".

Cape Town - ANC MP Makhosi Khoza revealed on Friday some of the threats she has received, by posting to Facebook screengrabs of text messages sent to her cellphone calling for her death.

"Our movement defends all blacks‚ even those we disagree with. So there must be a white person trying to cause s**t for BLF".

Daily Maverick reports that the number which sent the threats was registered to the BLF.

True Caller is a free app available to Android and Apple users and picks up the name a number is saved under on any user's phone that has True Caller installed. We won't threaten Makhosi Khoza, she's not a politically interesting person to us.

"I popped the number into the TrueCaller app on Android and you'll never believe what it showed", he tweeted‚ attaching a screenshot of the search result.

However, the movement has denied this, saying it doesn't target black people. "BLF holds the principle of "peace among blacks"‚" he said.
