Saif Ali Khan has joined Netflix's first India-set original series "Sacred Games", which is based on author Vikram Chandra's best-selling novel.

Sacred Games is based on the best-selling novel by Vikram Chandra, and will be a bilingual series in Hindi and English.

"Content in the digital space is taking over the existing dynamics at a rapid pace - the crown in the digital empire lies with Netflix, and it's extremely satisfying to partner and participate in the first original series from India to be showcased on Netflix", Saif said the statement.

Erik Barmack, vice president of worldwide original series at Netflix, said, "Saif's role is layered and complex, and we are thrilled to be working with such a fantastic actor to bring this story to a global audience".

Well, we just hope the web series works well for Saif as he surely needs a boost in his career after major flops like Rangoon, Humshakals, Phantom. Not having even the slightest of hitch in trying out new roles and exploring himself into new characters, actor Saif Ali Khan has always been ever evolving in nature.

With no such confirmation as to when the entire series shall be released live on the internet, the series is being produced in collaboration with B-town giants like Anurag Kashyap, Madhu, Vikramaditya Motwane and Vikas Bahl who would all co-produce the series.
