Seventh Ship for Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line has surprised with an announcement of a seventh new cruise ship to be built.

The Land will differ considerably from the existing Toy Story Lands in Hong Kong and Paris, the premise remains the same: guests shrink to the size of a toy to explore the world with favourite Toy Story characters, including Woody and Buzz, according to the Disney blogpost.

Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek announced Saturday afternoon at the company's D23 Expo a Toy Story Land will be coming to Hollywood Studios in Disney World next summer as well as Shanghai Disney. Those are slated to launch in 2021 and 2023.

Walt Disney Worlds Toy Story Land will feature two new themed attractions.

The cruise line has ordered another new cruise ship to be built and once in service, it will be the seventh in the fleet.

Ship names, design plans and itineraries are still in development. All three ships will be powered by clean-burning liquefied natural gas and all will be the same size.

All will be approximately 135,000gt with about 1,250 passenger staterooms-slightly larger than 2011's Disney Dream and 2012's Disney Fantasy, at 128,000gt and the same number of staterooms.

Michelle Fee, co-founder and CEO, Cruise Planners, Coral Springs, FL, said: "It's always good for the cruise industry when a new ship is announced".

Since first setting sail in 1998, Disney Cruise Line has provided a quintessential family cruise vacation experience that combines the magic of Disney with the wonder of exploring different parts of the world.

With those vessels, the line introduced such features as AquaDuck, an water ride in clear tubing around the top deck, as well as virtual portholes in interior staterooms.
