An Air India Express aircraft "momentarily" skidded off the runway at Mangalore on Sunday morning due to the weather suddenly turning bad when it was about to touch down.
Report suggests, the flight that took off from Dubai International Airport and was scheduled to land at Mangaluru Airport at around 4:45 am had around 185 passengers onboard which also included two infants.
As per local sources, the airport authority has alleged that the aircraft had hit "some guiding lights" of the runway after landing at Mangaluru airport, damaging them.
The flight number 814 was coming from Dubai. The Times of India reported that the plane damaged few runway light but there was no damage to the plane and no injuries to people on board.
"There was no discomfort or injury to any passenger". "Post arrival inspection of the aircraft revealed no damages", he said.
Taking cognisance of the allegation, the airline's Flight Safety Department set up the enquiry into the incident.
The 185 passengers on board the aircraft are safe, according to Air India officials.
