PSV Eindhoven have confirmed that an agreement has been reached to loan midfielder Marco van Ginkel from Chelsea for a third time. However, they couldn't agree a fee and instead will settle for Van Ginkel returning on a season-long loan deal.
Van Ginkel, who has also had temporary spells with AC Milan and Stoke City, was part of the PSV side that won the Eredivisie title in 2016.
The 24-year-old joined Stamford Bridge for £8million in 2013 but serious injury has limited him to just four Chelsea appearances over four years. "PSV hope to welcome the midfielder quickly in Switzerland, where he will join then in training camp".
Antonio Conte has had multiple opportunities to take the midfielder into consideration for his first-team plans but now, if not before already, it is quite clear that Van Ginkel's long-term future lies away from Chelsea.
The Holland global was loaned out to AC Milan and Stoke during his first two years with the Blues and has spent the last two seasons on loan at the Philips Stadion.
