Romero, 30, made 18 appearances last term, including in the Europa League final victory over Ajax in May, making it his most prolific season since making 33 appearances for Sampdoria in 2012-13.
The Spaniard has been incredible at Old Trafford and has been continuously linked with a move to Real Madrid after his move collapsed in the closing hours of transfer deadline day in 2015.
The Argentina worldwide is still behind established No. 1 David De Gea in the United pecking order, but has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until at least 2021.
