Parveen Agha on the occasion appreciated the efforts of the Carriage Factory staff. The special train will stop at every major station along its way.
She said, the train consist of five galleries and six floats highlighting Pakistan independence Movement with objective to educate people about the ideology and struggle of Pakistan under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It portrays the culture of the four provinces - Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
A troupe of folk artist and puppeteers will accompany the train for the entertainment of general public.
The Azadi Train will be inaugurated by Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb, said a press release issued here by the Ministry of Railways on Friday.
The special Azadi train will leave for Lahore at 10:00pm on 15th of this month.
After stopover in Lahore for two days, the Azadi Train will leave for Multan and arrive there at 11:30 in the night. On August 20, it will proceed from Sukkur for Sibbi and will arrive there at 8 in the evening. Afterwards, it will arrive at Quetta at 7:00 in the morning. On August 13 it will depart the cantonment at 10:30 in the morning for Rawalpindi and will reach there at 7:15 in the evening. It will stay at Hyderabad for one night and via Kotri will lastly depart for Karachi Cantt.
