Holby City star Joe McFadden confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing

BBCJoe Mc Fadden has been confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2017

Two more celebrities have been confirmed to appear on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

He says: "Strictly is one of the biggest, most entertaining shows on TV and being asked to be part of it is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I'm thrilled and terrified about in equal measures!"

McFadden joins previously announced soap stars Gemma Atkinson and Davood Ghadami, TV host Ruth Langsford, singer Mollie King and former Communards star Rev Richard Coles for Strictly 2017.

Joe first came to national attention playing PC Joe Mason in Heartbeat and has also appeared in Take the High Road, The Crow Road and Sex, Chips & Rock "n" Roll.

The Glasgow born actor is best known for playing the role of Raffaello "Raf" di Lucca in BBC One's medical drama, Holby City.

The stars will battle it out for the coveted Glitterball trophy, which was lifted by BBC Sports presenter Ore Oduba previous year.

Judges Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel-Horwood and Bruno Tonioli are all set to return while new judge Shirley Ballas will replace stalwart Len Goodman as Head Judge following his departure at the end of the 2016 series which was won by sports broadcaster Ore Oduba.
