Chicago White Sox Call Up Reynaldo Lopez

Tyler Saladino starting for White Sox versus Kansas City

Kansas City has lost four in a row and nine of 11 to surrender second place in the American League Central to Minnesota while remaining four games behind division-leading Cleveland. Lopez, acquired from the Washington Nationals in the Adam Eaton trade last winter, is one of the top prospects in the team's system, and he will be looking to continue his strong play of late when he toes the rubber Friday.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Royals LH Danny Duffy (7-7, 3.48 ERA) vs. Nicky Delmonico will be in left field while Leury Garcia mans right and Avisail Garcia grabs a seat on the White Sox' bench. Mike Moustakas led the charge, going 2 for 4 with a pair of solo home runs.

Recalled from Triple-A Charlotte before the game, Lopez spaced two runs and four hits in six innings in his White Sox debut.

The Royals scored on a wild pitch in the ninth inning, but Tyler Clippard recorded the final two outs to earn his third save of the season. Alcides Escoabr went 2 for 4 with a double, while Melky Cabrera added a two-bagger of his own as Cheslor Cuthbert and Alex Gordon each chipped in base hits of their own in the loss.

Anderson and Engel both had two hits for the White Sox.

The Chicago White Sox will look to stay hot after winning their fourth straight game, following up their sweep of the Astros with their series opening win on Friday. His most recent came on July 22 against the White Sox.
