Pakistan cricketers, now involved in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2017 and English domestic season, have been asked to cut short their participation in the wake of late finalisation and rescheduling of the upcoming ICC World XI series.

Executive chairman of FICA, Tony Irish, was quoted as saying that the players' representative body is in communication with the PCB regarding the World XI series and wants to see the security plan for the proposed matches.

The call taken by Najam Sethi-led PCB is due to the rescheduling of the World XI's tour of Pakistan, the cricket board announced in a press release on Friday.

ESPN said that the World XI's visit - subject to security clearance - was originally scheduled for the last week of September but it has been brought forward to between September 10 and 16.

The team had been heading to the Gaddafi Stadium for the third day of a Test match with Pakistan.

Pakistan registered a moral victory over neighbours India on Sunday after forcing the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to move the U-19 Asia Cup out of Bengaluru to Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. Amid this tight schedule, the PCB announced a National T20 Championship running from August 25 to September 10.

Pakistan have played most of their home internationals in the United Arab Emirates since gunmen attacked a bus carrying Sri Lanka players in Lahore eight years ago, wounding six players, and killing six security staff and two civilians.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a decision to call back the centrally-contracted players from their ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and English county stints.

The players have been asked to report to Head Coach Micky Arthur at the National Cricket Academy on August 22 for fitness and medical screening followed by participation in the national T20 tournament and preparatory camp under the supervision of Pakistan team management.
