Former Southern Miss track standout Tori Bowie added her second gold medal of the IAAF World Championships on Saturday at Olympic Stadium in London. It's the first time since 2011 that Team USA won the women's 4x100m relay at the World Championships.
The Americans, Olympic gold medalists in Rio previous year, were led off by Aaliyah Brown who flew out of the blocks to start the run that brought them the world title they last won in 2011.
It was undoubtedly a tricky race for the American team, who were the heavy favorites heading in, though an impressive anchor leg by Bowie, the individual 100m champion, saw off the British challenge from Daryll Neita and secured another gold from the United States. However, Bowie held firm and produced a great final leg to take gold, with Britain in second and Sashalee Forbes bringing home the Bronze for Jamaica.
