The England worldwide struggled under Jose Mourinho last season and played just once between November and March, despite being fit.
Moreover, Marcos Rojo was picked ahead of Shaw at left-back despite being fully fit for the second half of the previous season, and the youngster managed to make just 11 league appearances.
Shaw is now sidelined with an injury but has returned to first team training after working his rehabilitation separately on the pre-seaosn tour.
The 22-year-old was publicly criticised by United manager Jose Mourinho for refusing to play through the pain when injured but it appears that Shaw will be staying at the club, despite the speculation surrounding him. Meanwhile, Mourinho is on a mission to resolve the void at left-back in his squad, and is reportedly interested in bringing in Danny Rose from Tottenham.
However, Shaw's agent has blasted the reports and says the defender will stay at Old Trafford to become one of the "best left-backs in the world".
And Shaw's agent Barnett says his client is going nowhere, claiming he's loved by the Red Devils.
However, Shaw's representative Jonathan Barnett stressed that his client also loves United and backed the England global to be one of the best left-backs in the world.
