A major search operation for a diver who went missing off the coast of Co Donegal has resumed.

The Lough Swilly lifeboat, Portrush lifeboat and coastguard helicopter are involved in the search.

Gardai and emergency personnel have also been called in to help locate the missing person, along with a massive local effort from fishermen.

The alarm was raised by two children shortly after they had gone out on the canoe with the man, and managed to swim back to shore after they ended up in the water. He went hiking on Thursday afternoon and the alarm was raised after he did not return to his auto that evening.

Meanwhile, members of the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team and Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team are searching for a missing walker in the Derryveagh Mountains.
