Huddersfield boss David Wagner has stressed the importance of the club's fans producing an "extraordinary atmosphere" that will help the players do the "dirty yards" in Sunday's historic clash with Newcastle.

Shelvey will miss the next three games, starting with Sunday's trip to Huddersfield, as a result of his red card, and there is no guarantee that he will get straight back into Benitez's team.

Heading into the game Newcastle had not won three Premier League points away from home since December 2015.

The Huddersfield game will be at 6 pm IST. Subs not used: Coleman, Malone, Lolley, Williams.

United manager Benitez - who had handed midfielder Mikel Merino his full league debut in the absence of the suspended Jonjo Shelvey - quickly sent on new signing Joselu.

"I thought that was the ideal way to approach it, because he knows there is a lot more hard work to go", said Lawrenson.

"I believe we will bounce back".

One thing that is guaranteed is that both sides will make the most of this tie to propel their start to this campaign and with survival in the top division a chest of riches both will be equally determined to leave the stadium happy. I want to give them what they deserve.

Huddersfield beat Newcastle 2-1 wat St James' Park last season, but that is their only victory in their last 11 league and cup meetings in this fixture.

But they were comfortably second best at the John Smith's - and Rafa Benitez must hope owner Mike Ashley now opens up his wallet before the transfer window shuts at the end of this month.

The Aussie was Huddersfield's stand-out player in last year's Championship campaign, when he was on loan from Manchester City.
