Well, almost 20 years after Seinfeld ended, the real Jerry is going back to explore those days before he starred in the most popular sitcom in the world.
The new special is part of a lucrative contract he signed with the streaming giants that also involves new episodes of his web show "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee", as well as another special at some point in the not-too-distant future.
Ahead of that, Netflix has slated Seinfeld's first stand-up special for the streamer to launch worldwide Tuesday, Sept. 19.
A new, hour-long comedy special will show Jerry Seinfeld returning to one of the clubs where he cut his teeth, New York City's the Comic Strip, for what's being billed as an "intimate stand-up set". "Interspersed with never-before-seen material ― including a library of legal pads with every joke he's written since 1975, childhood videos, and more ― Jerry performs the jokes that put him on the comedy map". The special is set to premiere on Netflix on September 19th.
