Shayda Habib, the manager of the local Pizza Hut, told The Houston Chronicle she chose to make pizza for people she heard were low on food while stuck in their homes.

While rains and flooding brought by Hurricane Harvey have devastated the Houston area, a local Pizza Hut franchisee is keeping up with deliveries via kayak. "You never let your family go hungry".

With a limited crew, Habib team got to work and prepared as many pizzas as possible.

"When I heard there were families in need, I knew we needed to act fast. I called my husband and asked him to gather up kayaks and meet me at the restaurant", Habib said in a press release sent to KENS 5.

Habib said she was fortunate to have the resources to be able to serve the community they live in and love.
