Capcom and iam8bit Team Up to Re Release Street Fighter 2 on Working SNES Cartridge

Street Fighter II: 30th Anniversary Edition SNES Cartridge Glows in the Dark

Capcom is re-releasing the Super NES version of Street Fighter 2 in November to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary.

There are two variants of this fantastic cartridge: one in "Opaque Ryu Headband Red" and the other in "Glow in the Dark Blanka Green".

The special edition costs $100 Dollars and can be ordered right now from the iam8bit website. The latter are meant to resemble the green skin of Blanka, a fighter who uses electric shocks to harm his opponents. It was exactly thirty years ago when Street Fighter was first released in the arcades. "It truly is completely random".

Though it may be exciting to imagine playing your new cartridge on your SNES console, iam8bit did spare a moment to provide a strongly worded warning: "Use of this reproduction cartridge (the "Product") on the SNES gaming hardware may cause the SNES console to overheat or catch fire". Each cartridge will be packed in a tri-fold box and include a "premium instruction booklet" as well as "retro pack-in surprises".

Street Fighter and Nintendo go together like peanut butter and jelly. Previous iam8bit releases have sold out following their introduction, so if this latest product is something you want, you might want to preorder it sooner rather than later.
