LEGOLAND® Florida Theme Park and Water Park will be closed Saturday, September 9 through Monday, September 11.

Magic Kingdom: Closing early on Saturday, September 9 at 9 PM.

The Saturday, 9/9 Happily Ever After fireworks performance is canceled.

SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will close by 5 p.m. Saturday. I'm adding this to the story: Since opening in 1971, the park has only been closed four other times, all in anticipation of hurricanes.

It previously closed for hurricanes Floyd and Frances in 1999, for Jeanne in 2004, for half an hour on 9/11, and in 2016 for Hurricane Matthew, according to reports.

While Disney World has only closed 4 times before due to a hurricane, the resort is well equipped to deal with such a storm.

Theme parks in Florida are closing their gates and canceling special events this weekend because of Hurricane Irma, a decision that will cost them millions even before the first wind gust. "Additional elements including air, auto rental or other theme park tickets are separate and not part of this policy".

Universal Orlando's on-site hotels are now at full capacity and will remain operational.

Hurricane Irma is taking dead aim at Florida this weekend, and while the greatest impact will be felt in the southern-most part of the state, Central Florida will feel the wrath of Irma as well.
