Its new update, 1.1.0, now lets you chat while using other apps or while your phone's screen is switched off.
Of all the issues gamers had with the Nintendo Switch Online app, those two design flaws were perhaps the most common.
The Nintendo Switch Online App allows Switch players to enhance their online gameplay experience on the Nintendo Switch by checking for game-specific services, inviting friends to play through social media, and using voice-chat while playing. Additionally, the official update notes mention improved Bluetooth support for Android devices.
(*1) This excludes apps with audio output or apps that use the microphone. Do you even use voice chat in the Nintendo Switch Online app? It's worth noting, however, that on Android devices on 6.0 (Marshmallow) or later, voice chat will not work in sleep mode if power-saving mode is active, though it should still work in the background of other apps regardless.
The Switch Online App is now free until Nintendo's paid online subscription service launches next year.
