Stabbing attack on IDF soldier thwarted near Hebron

IDF soldiers stopped a terrorist attempting to stab forces at the Elias Junction in Kiryat Arba on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 13), according to the Tazpit Press Service, quoting the Hatzolah emergency response service in Judea and Samaria. He was evacuated to receive medical care and no other injuries were reported.

Daradat is reportedly in moderate condition.

Kiryat Arba is adjacent to the divided West Bank city of Hebron.

A civilian who happened to be near the scene shot the assailant, 15-year-old Issa Daradat from the village of Sair, north of Hebron.

The teenager was then arrested by Border Police and taken for further questioning by security forces, the police spokeswoman said, adding that no shots were fired during the arrest.

The sources claimed that an Israeli soldier opened fire on the boy while he was allegedly trying to carry out a stabbing attack.
