"It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Wilde Lake High School teacher Ms. Laura Wallen was found deceased tonight by Montgomery County Police".
Lauren Wallen, a social studies teacher at Wilde Lake High, was reported missing after failing to show up on the first day of school on September 5.
Wallen's family had said they received a "troubling" text message from her about an hour later but attempts to reach her failed.
Police found the Olney, Maryland, resident's black Ford Escape several days later at an apartment complex in Howard County.
Wallen, who was four months pregnant, was last heard from on September 3, when she sent a text message to her family, which police described as "troubling".
Her parents and boyfriend offered a $25,000 reward for information on her whereabouts on Monday. "I pray that she's safe and that she comes back". She did not request a substitute teacher for that first day, which anxious her family, her father Mark Wallen said Monday.
Wallen was four months pregnant, and her family said she was excited about it and posted her sonogram on her refrigerator. We also asked if police have talked to Wallen's acquaintances about her disappearance.
A vigil was scheduled for Wallen Wednesday night.
