Schools in Tampa Bay area announce plans to resume class

While Flagler Schools does have time built into the schedule to account for lost days, the district is still working with the Florida Department of Education and Governor Scott to determine if makeup days will be needed. An announcement will be made about Thursday as soon as possible.

There is still no word on when exactly the schools will re-open, as the district continues to inspect school buildings.

The district has lost six school days due to Hurricane Irma.

"By remaining closed this week, it will provide time for repairs to schools, the return of families and employees who may have evacuated, and restoration of utilities", the news release said.
