President Donald Trump honored the resolve of the nation's Air Force on Friday, warning foes and worldwide terrorist groups that the USA military would respond to any threats. "The combat efficiency and reliability of Hwasong-12 were thoroughly verified", said Kim as quoted by KCNA.
North Korea has launched dozens of missiles under Kim's leadership as it accelerates a weapons program created to give it the ability to target the United States with a powerful, nuclear-tipped missile.
Ahead of his remarks, both national security adviser H.R. McMaster and US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley stressed during a White House briefing on the UN General Assembly that Trump did have military options to stop North Korea, CNN reported.
"We are and forever will be a nation of pioneers and patriots", he said.
"We crave adventure and achievement, exploration and enlightenment", Trump said of Americans and their military.
The UN Security Council on Friday strongly condemned North Korea's "highly provocative" missile launch and demanded Pyongyang immediately halt such actions - but did not threaten further sanctions.
It had already stepped up sanctions against North Korea in response to a nuclear bomb test on September 3, imposing a ban on North Korea's textile exports and capping its imports of crude oil.
Multiple top Trump advisers said Friday there are military options available for dealing with the North Korea crisis, despite some experts saying that there are no good options for the region. "They are better looking than Tom Cruise and we know they can fight better and we know they can fly better".
