Primetime Ratings: 'Dancing' Opener Down, But ABC Wins the Night

ABC took top ratings honors Monday, riding the premiere of Dancing With the Stars to a 1.4 rating in viewers 18-49, and a 5 share.

Please note: ABC's Monday lineup was preempted for local National Football League coverage in Detroit (1.616% of the U.S.), while "To Tell the Truth" was also preempted in Boston (3.241% USA combined).

Later on ABC, "To Tell the Truth" (0.9, 5.2 million) saw a significant increase in both measures airing behind the "Dancing with the Stars" premiere.

For Fox, back-to-back episodes of "So You Think You Can Dance" at 8 p.m. (0.6, 2.3 million) and 9 p.m. (0.6, 2.1 million) were both even. The CW averaged a 0.3 and 123,000 viewers.

Over on NBC, American Ninja Warrior (5.9 mil/1.5) ticked down week-to-week with its finale, while the Midnight, Texas season finale (2.78 mil/0.8) rose to a three-episode audience high and drew its best rating since August 7.

Lifts vs. L+SD are based on the 2016-17 season for premiere telecast or an average for originals (excluding the premiere).
