Elliott Doesn't Run From Criticism; Says "No Excuse For Lack of Effort"

The Arizona Cardinals come into this game as a 3 point underdog at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

In Week 3, Elliott and company will try to bounce back as they go on the road to face the struggling Arizona Cardinals.

You can not win football games when you are playing backups against some of the better receivers in the league. Head Coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Carson Palmer will have enough film on the Dallas defense to create a game plan that could give Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli fits.

The Broncos defense is definitely an anomaly in this league and proved it after stopping the Cowboys top-tier offense.

Many are questioning if the Cowboys will be able to recover from this loss, and it is a valid question.

If they do not get a healthy cornerback soon, it might be time for the Cowboys to pursue a veteran cornerback in a trade.

"We're a close team, " he said.

"I would say I was just very frustrated, but that's no excuse for the lack of effort I showed on tape", Elliott said on Thursday, via PFT, in his first comments on the matter. Probably not, and Zeke could be just getting started as now he is more driven than ever to make an impact on the football field. The Cowboys are 0-2 when Elliott averages fewer than 3.9 yards per attempt.

"I know who he is", Prescott said via Jon Machota of Dallas Morning News.

The Cardinals could turn to their second new starting running back in two weeks since losing star David Johnson to a left wrist injury in Week 1 at Detroit.

Elliott, though, mostly has taken heat for failing to chase Harris after the interception. We don't go out there and play for you guys. Dak can not miss windows like he did against the Broncos but he will likely have more space and his receivers should get more separation against the Cardinals. Throwing three interceptions in the season opener and a fourth last week against the Colts, he has nearly single-handedly sabotaged a 2-0 start for Arizona. Has Denver finally found the key to stopping one of the best offenses in football, or is this Bronco defense that good?

The Cowboys are relying on veteran cornerbacks Orlando Scandrick and Nolan Carroll to return from injury.

On paper, the Cardinals look to be a team which could potentially upset the Cowboys this week, especially considering that they are home.
