"Two terrorists namely, Gajnafar and Arif had been recruited by the inmical forces in the Kashmir valley to foment terror in the Chenab valley region".
The SSB party, which is responsible for security of the Banihal Tunnel was returning from duty.
Reports said that the duo, identified as Arif and Ghazanfar, was apprehended in the outskirts of Banihal.
Two service rifles, including an AK 47 assault rifle and an Insas rifle, which were snatched from the securitymen during the Wednesday attack, were recovered from their possession.
"Two militants involved in Wednesday's terrorist attack at Banihal have been arrested and a hunt for the third militant is on", a police spokesman said here.
Earlier on Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir police confirmed that the firing incident outside the SSB post near the Jawahar Tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir killed one trooper and injured another.
The terrorists fired at the securitymen, killing one of them and injuring another, he said. "The militants also sntached two rifles of the SSB men", Lal said, adding this was the first incident of militancy in the district in the past few years. Police had recovered two mobile phones in a bag near the site of incident.
