Behind Enemy Lines 5 questions with Bills Wire before Week 3

After putting pressure on Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor and taking him to the ground, Miller was called for a personal foul penalty.

Von Miller, a star linebacker for the Denver Broncos, was one of the players who took a knee - and one local Ford dealership took issue. Then, when he got up, Miller extended his hand to help Tyrod up, but pulled it back at the last second and walked away.

Taylor was the one laughing when the referee tossed a flag and penalized Miller 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct. "That direction that I made most of the field goals the max was probably 58 and in the other direction it was probably 63 or 64".

With the Broncos trailing 23-16 in the fourth quarter, the Broncos' defense got the stop it needed.

"We felt like President Trump's speech was an assault on our most cherished right, our freedom of speech, and collectively we felt like we had to do something for this game", Miller said. I've closed games 50 million times. I've got to be smarter than that. I'm always on the rookies and the young guys about being smart, doing this, doing that. I haven't been in situations (like that) since my rookie season. On that play, I just made a very, very crucial mistake at a vital point in the game. "We couldn't just let things go. It was for my brothers that have been attacked for things that they do during the game, and I felt like I had to join them on it".

Still, they won because maligned quarterback Tyrod Taylor had one of his best games as a pro. "Once I saw the offensive linemen run out on the field, I said the linemen are not about to run down the field to cover the kick".

"I'm a viable option and that's kind of why I was able to get my head around and see the ball", Holmes said.

Added Taylor: "Yeah, me and Von came out the same year".

"We are good friends and we were actually laughing on the field", Taylor said after the game.

Easy for me to say because I have no stake in the matter, but: I think it was totally worth it. I can't even remember the last time Buffalo actually decided that they were a real National Football League offense and marched right down the field for three points.

"When Shady had to give it to us he found a way", said Matthews.
