Bucs LB Lavonte David week-to-week with ankle sprain

Lavonte David to Undergo MRI on Ankle Injury Suffered in Buccaneers vs. Vikings

Lavonte David will miss time, Gerald McCoy will likely play hurt again for Bucs

Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David has a medial left ankle sprain and will be week-to-week, a source told ESPN on Monday.

"I think you're jumping the gun on Lavonte", Bucs coach Dirk Koetter said Monday, per the Tampa Bay Times. "It's not as bad as it looked, No. 1 - and it looked bad". "X-rays were negative. We don't know exactly what it is yet, but knock on wood it's not as bad as it looked or as was previously reported". The Bucs were already without middle linebacker Kwon Alexander in Minnesota due to a hamstring injury. Alexander did not play Sunday at Minnesota and was limited to only 40 snaps in Week 3.

McCoy aggravated a right ankle injury suffered the previous week against Chicago.

With Grimes out and Tampa Bay's front four unable to generate much of a pass rush, Case Keenum filled in for an injured Sam Bradford and threw for a career-best 369 yards and three touchdowns without an interception for Minnesota.
