Conor McGregor dances as he speaks during a world tour press conference to promote the upcoming Mayweather vs McGregor boxing fight at Budweiser Stage.
"I think he was just saying it to keep people on their toes".
"Whatever happens, I don't know, but I said this already: I would like to see (McGregor-Diaz 3)".
"Oh my goodness, do you see how high he's hanging his chin up whenever he's throwing punches?"
McGregor is of course coming off one of the biggest drawing PPVs of all time.
"I don't think he's going to fight this year".
In February of this year, McGregor revealed the WWE had been chasing him to appear in the ring but he turned them down as he was lining up the Money fight. However, Roddy doesn't think Ferguson presents the same challenge that Diaz does.
'Dana, by going out there at the press conference and saying publicly that Ferguson has to fight Conor, that takes the momentum away from Diaz so that's gonna soften his stance on the 20 million'.
McGregor does want to return to the UFC before the end of 2017, having yet to defend the lightweight strap he won from Eddie Alvarez last November. But this time it looks like a deal is going to be locked into place."Last week, Stephanie McMahon discussed the possibility of McGregor making an appearance for WWE at a "Leaders in Sports" convention at Stamford Bridge."I think Conor would be a flawless fit with WWE", McMahon said".
As far as the potential matchup with Ferguson, Roddy sees a lot of areas where McGregor would have an advantage in that fight but none bigger than if the two lightweights made a decision to stay standing in the center of the Octagon. That's all you've got to do: "just set it down and you won't get ass kicked, I swear, by another Mexican".
"But this time it looks like a deal is going to be locked into place". I mean compared to what UFC rules state, he's got a year to start defending his belt. It's when you're fighting, when you're training out of camp is when you improve, when you work on new techniques and you develop new areas of the game.
"I've always said that Conor has this wonderful ability to pick up techniques very, very quickly, and because we focused on boxing for, whatever, 10 weeks non-stop and we were working different shots and different angles, everything got so much sharper. So yeah, big knockouts when he gets back into the UFC again".
