Head coach Ben McAdoo said he spoke with Rodgers-Cromartie on Tuesday, and that Rodgers-Cromartie was at the team's facility on Wednesday morning and attended team meetings and later made a decision to leave.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Twitter that DRC got into a heated argument with Giants head coach Ben McAdoo on Sunday after getting pulled from the game, a 27-22 loss to the San Diego Chargers that dropped winless NY to 0-5.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Rodgers-Cromartie met with Giants coach Ben McAdoo on Thursday morning and McAdoo informed him that he is indeed still suspended indefinitely. It is not known if the two exchanged words during the game.
Rodgers-Cromartie has 26 tackles and a half-sack this season. Apparently Rodgers-Cromartie wasn't interested in being disciplined.
Deayon spent the first six weeks of the 2016 season on the practice squad before being placed on injured reserve. "Chose to leave. We will suspend him", McAdoo said. They are 0-5 after making the playoffs a year ago, and the suspension gives the impression that McAdoo is losing his team in just his second year as a head coach. Several other players - including safety Landon Collins, wideout Sterling Shepard and defensive end Olivier Vernon - are in danger of missing this week's game.
