Two new smartphones are expected to be unveiled at the event - Nokia 9 and the second-generation Nokia 8. If this report is to materialize, the company might put out the dates very soon. A new report from China claims that the Nokia 9 and a new iteration of the Nokia 8, named Nokia 8 (2018) will be launched on the 19th of January.
The Nokia 3 is on the last of the list and may get Android 8.0 Oreo by early 2018.
Along with the new Nokia 9, Nokia 8 will also receive an upgrade much before the end of its update cycle. The device is expected to come with top of the line components. Nokia 9 has also leaked in images which shows the phone to come in three colour variants - black, blue and silver.
The handset, which will reportedly ship with Android 8.0 Oreo onboard and offer IP67 certification, will be made available with either 64GB or 128GB storage and MyDrivers claims it'll ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack in favour of audio over USB-C.
Earlier this year in September, a Geekbench listing revealed the specifications of the Nokia 9.
One of the biggest USPs of the device will be the Carl-Zeiss optics that will come with dual-camera set-up. The two smartphones will also be customized for the Chinese market, so there is a good chance that the global variants of the two smartphones will be announced by HMD Global at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in February. The camera will have 4K shooting capability and at least of the modules will feature a 12Megapixel unit.
