World to add new beasts in free post-launch updates — Monster Hunter

"We are thinking about free, post-launch updates for Monster Hunter: World", Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto told Famitsu (via Gematsu).

World is already shaping up to be a fun game, and is sure to kick 2018 with a bang when it releases on January 26.

During a livestream event that took place during PlayStation Experience, Tsujimoto confirmed their intentions to add the post-launch monsters for free. "Loot collected from fallen foes can be used to create new equipment and armor upgrades styled after the monsters they've slain, allowing hunters to survive the elements and defeat the tougher opponents that await them". There is currently a free beta for the game available only on PS4 that lets you play a few missions by yourself or with other players online; In order to download the beta, you must be a PS Plus subscriber. "As for what kind of monsters will be added and so on, information will be shared later on, so please look forward to it". Some players have speculated whether the new monsters will be reskinned versions of ones included at launch or different sized monsters, but even slight variations will still be worth hunting down for the challenge and the rewards.
