Monday's national championship game is the first football game Trump has attended since being inaugurated as president. An example: Blair Kerkhoff of the Kansas City Star (who regrettably deleted his wasted copy before we got around to asking for it) wrote three versions of the opening of his story: Georgia winning in regulation, Alabama winning on the final-play field goal and Georgia winning in overtime.

Just because the Tide won it all doesn't render the Mercer debate null-or it shouldn't. I think we played 45 snaps on defense the first half.

And this most recent championship will be very lucrative for Tennessee's new head coach. A 41-yard touchdown later, Alabama was crowned champions.

With each regular season game playing such an important role in qualifying a team for the playoffs, an expansion of the playoffs would take away some importance of regular season games. Alabama will open next season ranked number one again. It's also different in the sense that no team finished undefeated in 2011.

Nick Saban's current run at Alabama I believe is the greatest stretch in college football history. This one denied the Bulldogs their first national title since 1980.

That is Penn State scoring the game-winning touchdown over Georgia in the 1983 Sugar Bowl.

Tagovailoa took a terrible sack on Alabama's first play of overtime, losing 16 yards. The top tackler was a sophomore. The Facebook post of his interview with WHNT News 19 has gone viral.

He chose to bench his starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts, entering the second half of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. "He was recruiting and following up and making sure things were going like they were supposed to". However, no flag was thrown. Running back Damien Harris shouted it over and over again as the team dashed and hugged and cried on the field moments after the overtime victory. All he did was get a fourth down to set up the last-second 36-yard field that was ultimately missed. I ran the simulation of the Alabama Crimson Tide vs the UCF Knights on a neutral field 442 times.

The Ole Miss transfer knocked through a 43-yarder midway through the third quarter to cut the lead to 10 points.

"First and foremost, I'd just like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ".

Georgia safety Aaron Davis says the way he lives his life is indicative of his relationship with Jesus.

Praise continues to roll in for Tagovailoa after his performance against Georgia.

Tagovailoa had a big arm and could clearly throw the ball longer and deeper than Hurts. Georgia's running game was nearly shut down at every turn, as Michel and Chubb just couldn't seem to get any meaningful yards when it mattered. He will break the record and end the argument of best coach ever. But Tagovailoa did his best magician's trick and somehow escaped.

"He was going to step in and do his thing", Hurts said when asked what his thoughts were when Saban told him of the quarterback change at halftime.
