Wise: I Don't Think Mahrez Would Want to Go to Arsenal

Puel confident of keeping Mahrez at Leicester

'I Don't Think Mahrez Would Want to Go to Arsenal' – Wise

The Gunners are reportedly chasing the Leicester star as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, but will he get better offers than the Emirates club?

Arsenal really is the natural fit for Mahrez, where he could play in the same position as Sanchez but be more of a creator for Alexandre Lacazette than Sanchez is.

The Express point out that Mahrez has bought a property in London - unsurprisingly they label that as 'sending a message' to Arsenal.

"But as long as no deal is done he will continue to be fully committed to Leicester, just the way he has always been".

And according to the Daily Express, Mahrez is in talks with the Reds but would prefer to secure a move to the capital and play under Arsene Wenger instead.

Mahrez has been plying his trade at the King Power Stadium since January 2014 and has so far racked up one hundred and sixty-two appearances for the East Midlands outfit in all competitions, scoring forty-three times.

"I don't think Mahrez would want to go there", Wise told The Debate on Sky Sports on Wednesday night. "And Mahrez is starting to look like he is top draw", he added. He works hard in training and is enjoying his football and he is playing very well.

Recent reports suggested the Algerian was close to moving to the Reds in a deal worth around £50million following Philippe Coutinho's departure to join Barcelona on Saturday.

At times, it feels a little mystifying that Riyad Mahrez is still at Leicester City.

"I am happy he is staying here and he has a super attitude".

Mahrez has contributed to 14 goals in his last 17 appearances.
